1 cup milk.
(Instead of cow's milk, I use
unsweetened Almond Milk)
Although ordinary milk
is good also.
1cube of (chicken bouillon mix),
dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water.
(Or 1/2 cup chicken stock)
2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
mixed in 1/2 cup cold water.
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt, pepper and parsley
to taste.
4 Potatoes
thinly sliced.
1 Onion sliced
Grated cheddar cheese,
about 1 cup.
(Lactose cheese may
be used also. )
Paprika
I had the green onions and
used them also, anyways.
Preheat oven to 350deg.F
Directions:
In a saucepan add all the
above ingredients except
the potatoes, onions, cheese
and paprika.
Heat the liquid, stirring just
until the sauce begins to thicken.
Grease a casserole dish.
Place layers of potatoes,
about 1/3 of them,
add some of the onions
and sprinkle with cheese.
Repeat the above, two more times.
Pour the heated sauce over the potatoes.
Sprinkle with the paprika.
Bake covered for1 hour then
uncover and continue baking
for 1/2 hr. more or
until fork tender.
Remove from oven and let
stand 10-15 minutes before
serving.
