Homemade Valentine Fudge

This decadent fudge is oh
so sweet, and easy to make.
 "Carnation's Famous Fudge" made with
 milk, marshmallows and nuts.
Great for a Valentine treat.

I was looking for something sweet to
add to my blog for Valentines Day and
saw this fudge photo on a milk can and
decided to give it a try.
No thermometer or
doing the drip test need,
just boiling and cooling.
That seemed simple and easy to me.
I tried it and it turned out perfect.

Chocolate with walnuts

and white chocolate with almonds.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup (5oz. can) Carnation Evaporated milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter or margarine
1/4 tsp salt. (Note if you use salted butter, omit the salt.)
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 cup (9 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips.
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla extract.

Line a 8 inch pan with aluminum foil.

Combine the sugar, evaporated milk,
butter and salt in medium, saucepan.
Bring to a full rolling boil over medium
heat, stirring constantly.
Boil, stirring constantly for 4 to 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.

Stir in marshmallows, chocolate,
 nuts and vanilla.
Stir vigorously for 1 minute or
 until marshmallows are melted.

Pour into prepared baking pan.
Refrigerate for 4 hrs. or until firm.
Lift from pan, remove foil.
Cut into pieces.

For the white fudge,
I used the same recipe above,
with white chocolate chips,
sliced almonds, and decorated
 with red and pink sprinkles

It is best to keep this fudge
in the refrigerator.
It softens when left
 at room temperature.

Enjoy!

Happy Valentines Day!
