A quick and easy jam to make.
We went picking raspberries at
a U-Pick near home,
with family and friends.
Raspberry season goes by fast,
it's only a few weeks in August.
I made this delicious Raspberry Jam
Ingredients
6 cups Raspberries
3 cups Sugar.
2 tsp. lemon juice
Combine raspberries,
sugar and lemon juice, in a large pot.
Mash together with a potato masher.
Bring to boiling, stirring occasionally
until sugar dissolves.
Simmer for another 10 minutes, or until
jam is brought to the jelly point.
(Pour a small amount of jam on a cold plate
and transfer to freezer, for 2 to 3 minutes.
If mixture gels, it is ready. If not, return and
cook longer.)
Do a taste test to see if it is sweet enough.
I like mine tart.
Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
