These baked meatballs
save time and can be frozen
and used later in a variety
of dishes. I make a large
batch and use them for
different meals.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 large egg
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
(or soda crackers crushed up)
1/2 onion grated
1 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp beef or steak seasoning
1 tbsp ketchup
Preheat Oven to 350deg.F
Crack egg into a large mixing
bowl and whisk until blended.
Add the meat and the
remaining ingredients.
Mix to combine everything.
Scoop out the meat with a small
ice cream scoop or a large spoon,
and with your hands roll into balls.
Place on a baking sheet.
Bake approximately 30 minutes.
(Optional) turn after 1/2 way done.
I adapted this recipe from
http://pattietierney.blogspot.com
on her Cheesy Meat Balls.
Served with pasta
For a quick meal,
I used a bottled spaghetti
sauce and added cheddar
and Parmesan cheese.
Tastes great, simmered
with brown gravy, served
with vegetables.
I double the recipe to make
a larger batch, using 2lbs. of beef.
Sometimes I use 1/2beef and 1/2pork.
I also make Swedish Meat Balls
My favourite dish each time
we go to Ikea.
Enjoy!
