Homemade Chili

 Nothing tastes better than a
hot bowl of chili on a cool day.
I make a large pot and freeze
 it over the Winter.
It's great to have when visitors arrive.

Error in the photo,
only 1 can tomato paste.

Basil, chili powder, oregano, salt and pepper

Ingredients
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 lbs. ground beef
1 chopped green pepper
2 stalks of celery, chopped
1 onion chopped
4 garlic cloves minced
1 large can tomato sauce (680ml)
2 cans dark red kidney beans (19ozs)
(Sometimes I use a medley of beans)
1 large can of diced tomatoes (28oz)
1 can tomato paste.(5.5oz.)

1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp pepper
3 tsp chilli powder, or
more to suit your taste
1 tsp oregano

In a large pot with the vegetable oil,
cook the beef, green pepper, celery, onion,
garlic until the beef is brown, around 10 minutes.

Add the tomato sauce,
beans, diced tomatoes,
tomato paste and the spices.

Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hr.
Add water if too thick.

Enjoy!
